Frequently Asked Questions
Is PAWS a Green company?
Yes, we are! We do all that we can to protect our valuable environment. PAWS uses the latest technology to be paperless. We also use high quality biodegradable bags.
If I leave dog waste, will it disapear after a while?
In most cases dog waste will not disolve naturally for many months or even years. In these situations, the buildup can be very harmful to the environment, and very smelly! Dog waste runoff is a contuributing factor in drinking water quality.
Do you still operate in the winter?
Yes, we do! If it snows and covers the ground, we do our best to find everything. If we don't find everything, then we will have to work twice as hard once some of the snow melts. Maintaining service through the winter guarantees no spring clean-up ever again!
What if it rains?
We still work in the rain. Really bad storms that include lightning may cause us to reschedule your visit.
Do you contact me if my service day changes?
If a bad storm is coming, we may move your day either one day before or one day after without notification. If your service day is changed on a permanent basis due to scheduling, you will be notified.
Do you offer discounts?
We offer discounts to both foster dog homes and those with service dogs. We also offer discounts for pre-payments and initial clean-ups if a weekly maintenance program is selected.
What do you do with the dog waste?
We use biodegradable bags when removing the waste from your property. The waste is then disposed of according to local ordinances.
When is payment required?
Invoices are emailed or delivered at end of the month. For an initial clean-up or one-time service, payment is due upon receipt of service. All returned checks are subject to a $20.00 fee.
How do I pay?
You may pay with a check, cash, or pay your invoice on-line with credit/debit card. We also offer a recurring credit card payment option. Your credit card would be charged at the beginning of each month automatically.
What is “Satisfaction Guaranteed...?”
If you are not satisfied with the service provided, contact PAWS within 24 hours of service and we will come back to service again, free of charge.
If I go on vacation and take my dog, will I be able to suspend service temporarily?
Yes, you may. We ask that you notify PAWS of service suspension within 48 hours of scheduled service date.
Will you clean my yard with my dog outside?
In most cases, yes. But, if your dog displays agressive behavior or will not let us in the yard, PAWS asks that you restrain or confine your dog during our visits.
What if you cannot get into my yard?
If service could not be performed because the dog would not let us in the gate or the gate was locked, service will be re-scheduled if possible. If re-scheduling is not possible for the same week, service will be continued the following week.
How will you get in my gate if it is locked?
If your gate is locked, PAWS will not force the gate open or climb the fence, so please leave your gate unlocked on your service day. If you need to keep the gate locked, prior arrangements will be made.
Do you have a winter policy?
Yes we do. PAWS is a year-round service. During the winter, cleaning your yard can be quite challenging. We do the best we can under the conditions which we are operating in. Depending on how much snow has fallen, depends on how we service your yard that week. If it has snowed a small amount we still walk your yard. If is snows a lot, we will still come and follow the dog tracks to find what doody we can. In our area, snow melts quite frequently. When that occurs, all the waste will be removed completely. Please keep in mind, that when we miss some waste due to the snow, we will be at your home much longer the next time. It is in our interest to find all we can. If your yard is on a steep incline, depending on the ice/snow we may not service this area of your yard. Service of this area will resume once it is safe. Safety is a big concern. With our service, your yard is constantly maintained through the winter months. You never have to worry about spring clean-up ever again. Leaving the waste in the yard during the winter can not only cause health issues, but your dog can also track the waste into your home.
Do you run background checks on your employees?
Yes, we do. All employees must pass a criminal background check which includes a pedophile check.
Do your employees go through drug testing?
Yes, all employees must successfully pass a drug test.
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes, we do. We carry liability insurance. If you need to see our certificate of liability insurance contact PAWS.
Can I cancel and start service again?
Yes, you may. If your yard has not been cleaned for while, we may need to assess fees based on the conditions of the yard.
